Terms of service
Effective 21 October 2026. Applies to getmeishi.app and the Meishi wallet passes.
These terms are the agreement between you and Gary Cox, who operates Meishi at getmeishi.app ("Meishi", "we"). By making a card, sending your details from someone's card page, or adding a Meishi pass to your wallet, you accept them. The privacy policy is part of these terms.
What Meishi is
Meishi makes a business card that lives in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, a web page for that card that anyone can read after scanning its QR code, a way for the reader to save you to their contacts and send their own details back, and a card holder where you keep the cards you receive. One card is free. Pro, when it is offered, adds paid features such as a second card, company branding and a second-language side; its price and terms will be shown before you pay.
Your account
You sign in with Google, Apple or a code sent to your email. Keep that sign-in to yourself. An account is for one person and the details on it must be yours, or details you are entitled to give out on someone's behalf. You must be at least 16.
Your content
What you put on your cards and in your holder stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you hand your card to, put it in wallet passes and vCards, and send it where you direct, which is what the service does. You are responsible for having the right to use a photo, a logo or a company's branding on your card; the branding import only suggests what it finds on a website, and you confirm it.
Cards you receive
When someone sends you their details, they are trusting you with them the way they would with a paper card. Use them to stay in touch with that person. Do not add them to marketing lists, sell them, or pass them on in bulk. Meishi is a card holder, not a lead list, and we may close accounts that treat it as one.
Things you may not do
- Pretend to be someone you are not, or make a card for someone without their permission.
- Use Meishi to send spam, scams or anything unlawful, or to collect card pages in bulk.
- Probe, scrape or disrupt the service, or try to reach other people's data.
- Resell or repackage the service.
Your card page is a link
Your card page can be read by anyone who has its link. Choose what to show on it accordingly, and issue a new link from the app if one gets loose. We ask search engines not to index card pages, but we cannot control who forwards a link.
Other people's services
Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Google Contacts and the sign-in providers are run by Apple and Google under their own terms. If they change or withdraw a feature, the matching part of Meishi may change too.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Meishi up and your cards reachable, but it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and we may change, pause or retire features. If we close the service, we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice and a way to download their cards and holder as vCards.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost business or data, arising from your use of Meishi. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to the larger of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for consumers under their local law.
Ending things
You can stop using Meishi at any time and delete your account yourself from the Profile page; the privacy policy says exactly what that removes. It is immediate and cannot be undone, and the cards you handed out leave other people's holders with you. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you unless the harm is immediate. Your wallet pass and card page stop working when the account closes.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and disputes go to the state or federal courts there, unless the consumer law where you live gives you a different right. Please write to us first; most problems can be sorted out by email.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on this page and to account holders by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Using Meishi after that date means you accept the new terms.
